Each month at The Local Care, we embrace the spirit of Treat Friday, a delightful celebration inspired by the happenings of the month. This time, as we honor Guy Fawkes and National Cappuccino Day, our dedicated staff can swing by the office to collect a charming treat bag, with a cappuccino sachet and a festive bonfire lollipop.

In our quest to foster growth and enhance our care, we have also introduced a suggestion box within the office. This initiative aims to inspire valuable feedback from our team.

Our office stands as a warm and inviting haven, where both staff and service users can come together to share conversations about anything that graces their minds.

This week, the air at The Local Care office is filled with warmth and gratitude as we bask in the glow of delightful thank-you cards. Our hearts swell with joy to know that our unwavering dedication and the exceptional care provided by our team are truly appreciated. Striving for excellence is our mantra, and it brings us immense joy to see our service users acknowledge our efforts.

Today is World Mental Health Day – a day to come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters As lonely as it feels when you’re struggling with your mental health, please know you’re not alone.

Did you know, moving more is a brilliant way to improve your mood? Any physical activity is good, no matter what your age or ability, whether that is by attending a physical activity class, playing in some team sports, or simply walking the dog or playing with your children at home in the garden!

Please consider reaching out to someone you love and trust and as always, the office is always open for a chat & a brew.

Some of our lovely residents at Kirsten Court have been keeping busy in the garden refreshing the paint work. As you can see from the photos they have done a great job. The garden looks fantastic and the residents can’t wait for summer nights & BBQ’s. Activities like this are great to get the residents outdoors and working as a team. We are so proud of the work they have completed.

On Tuesday 16th July we had an open day, where the local community could come along and donate food for our local food bank ‘The Pantry’. The day was a huge success, so we would like to thank everyone who donated food. We are always looking for ways to help the local community and we look forward to more events like this.

Did you know that the first Friday in June is National Donut Day? So on the 7th June we celebrated with the whole team at The Local Care with lots of donutty treats! Which flavour would you pick?

Our lovely residents at Kirsten Court, enjoyed a creative outing at Glazey Days in Fleetwood last week. Its a great way to help you relax and also unplug from technology from time to time. 

The staff at Glazey Days were fabulous with the residents of Kirsten Court. We cant wait to go back. 

On Thursday 25th April Rebecca took part in the Spring Job Fair, which is held by the local Job Centre at Strive Cafe, Fleetwood. The local Care is always looking for enthusiastic and caring people to join our fabulous team. It was a brilliant day and we cant wait for the next one.

Last week we celebrated Dorothy’s 100th Birthday, Dorothy has been with The Local Care for 2 and a half years and we knew we had to go the extra mile to make it a Birthday to remember. Dorothy was over the moon with her personal birthday message from Robson Green.
